When you want to add some scenery to your yard or any room of your house, using outdoor carpet tiles is never a bad idea. There are a lot of advantages in using tiles over actual outdoor carpets. For one, it is easier to transport. With carpets, you have to roll them up into a bunch which can take up a lot of space and, depending on the size or length of the carpet, can be extremely heavy. This is not the case when it comes to tiles. You can stack them together and put them in your car or truck neatly without much problem.

Another advantage of these outdoor carpet tiles is that they are very durable and can withstand a lot of beating over the years. This means that they are perfect for high traffic areas such as patios. When it gets damaged, it is relatively easy to repair it. With traditional carpeting, when one part gets damaged you either have to live with it or replace the whole thing which can be very expensive. With tiles however, you can simply remove the broken ones and replace them with new ones. This will help you save a lot of time, money, and energy. It is also worth remembering that when you are going to use them on high traffic areas, the thicker the tile, the better since it will last longer.

You can best make use of outdoor carpet tiles on hard floors like cement, wood, ceramic, and stone. However, when it comes to decks and patios, it is best to use interlocking tiles since they can help with moisture drainage thus saving the wood from decomposing and prolonging their lifespan. Aside from that, they can also help in reducing noise levels as well as heating.

Installing these is fairly easy as well. All you have to do is plot out how many tiles you need beforehand and lay them down on the ground. You can instantly see the results before actually installing them to your floor. What’s great about this is that you make sure that you have less waste compared with using a large carpet wherein you will have to trim out the sides after installation. With this, you can make sure that you only get the right amount and produce less waste; and you save more money as well. All in all, using outdoor carpet tiles gives you a lot more flexibility in installing and in design.

When you are about to install your tiles however, make sure that they are of the right temperature and humidity. You should also be sure that they are clean and dry before you install them to ensure best results. To achieve this, you can leave them in a room for 24 hours.

The limitation of outdoor carpet tiles however is that they do not perform as well as traditional outdoor carpets in areas where they are exposed to the sun’s rays. Aside from that however, they have the upper hand when it comes to use, flexibility, durability, and cost.
